I am 79 years old and have cataracts and other age related concerns regarding my eye health. I have the dry form of macular degeneration and it was suggested that the increased lutein and mineral formulation might slow the progress of the disease. There are as of now no clinical studies that I know of to support this. I'm sure they will be forth- coming. Alcon the company that makes this product specializes in eyecare.
